[ Jason stares down at his phone. He never should have said a damn thing to Dick. What was he thinking? Dick says he wants to see past whatever, that he can see more to Jason than the sum of his actions , but that doesn't seem to be true.

He just wanted to talk to his... whatever Grayson is. He doesn't have anyone else to talk to.]

Yeah. It's real great.

Anyway, I'll let you get back to your superhero-ing.

[It doesn't sit right with Dick to get offended and drop a conversation. It never sits well with him. But Jason in particular has always been good at hitting him where it hurts and and carrying on with zero understanding. It's hard to be patient. It's hard to remember Jason was both robbed of time to mature and forced to grow up too quickly.

He looks down at his phone and does his best to suck it up and summon the same patience he has for Tim and Damian.]

For what it's worth, I'm sorry I got defensive and made it about myself. Whatever you might think about me, I do believe in you. I hope I can prove it to you one day.

[ Jason is pretty sure the only person who truly believes in him is himself- and even that is highly questionable most of the time.

Jason is good at hitting everyone where it hurts. It's a defense mechanism he's honed pretty well over the years, only now, it doesn't work so well for him when he's not actually trying to push people away so forcefully. ]

it's not a big deal, grayson. don't worry about it, i'm completely fine.

Okay, Jason, if all you want to do is complain about me, I don't get why you even want to talk to me in the first place.

I'm not complaining about you. Im telling you its hard to talk to you and you're turning it around on me.

You know, you can try to listen to some things I have to say about and not make it about you. I know you're the golden boy and all, but sometimes its okay to accept that you're not perfect.

How am I supppsed to listen to things you have to say ABOUT ME without making it about me?

Let me be clear, alright? If you want to talk to me about how you feel unheard by me, I'm all ears. But you don't have to remind me I'm not perfect--I know that. And you can just talk to me about how YOU feel about talking to me. Not how everyone feels.
